Coaches under OLD NCCP certification

With the impending MED evaluation deadline, we would like to make a few suggestions that will make this endeavour go more smoothly. It should be communicated to your coaches the following information. Please feel free to post this on your website.

· When email coach@coach.ca to request an MED account, the email should be constructed as such so that we can process them more efficiently thus causing the coach less grief:

Subject line should read: “MED Account” or “Compte PDE”
And should include the following information:

* Full name and CC number 0R (lost card or doesn’t have CC number)
* Full name
* Full address
* Telephone number
* Date of birth

· They will receive a confirmation email if they succeed the MED evaluation (score above 75%) with their score. Advise them that this email may get caught in their SPAM/Junk Email folder.

· The MED result with will not appear on their transcript immediately; scores are captured up to Saturday at midnight and uploaded to CAC new database system Sunday thus appearing on the transcript on Monday.

· We do not have or provide training material, guides, courses etc on the MED subject matter, we only administer the evaluation. Personally I don’t know if provinces offer such material and such, if so, the coaches would be best served if you refer them to the appropriate site or organization.

· Some coaches are under the impression that if they miss the deadline, they will lose all their past accreditation; this is not true but they need to hear that nothing is lost.

· CAC will have some staff members taking turns to monitor the coach emails this weekend but only focusing on MED account requests thus you see how important it is for coaches to construct their email requests for an MED account correctly.

· Let them understand to be a bit patient when making requests for the MED account, we will get to their request but keep in mind CAC get over 100 such requests per day thus they are in the queue like everone else. Also to refrain from jumping the line and calling CAC directly as this ties up the clerk on the phone when they could’ve processed two or three such email request in the same time plus it’s not fair for the ones who are in line, doing the right thing.

Your help, and the help of your provincial/community organizations, on this matter is greatly appreciated by us and CAC and will be appreciated by your coaches.
